There is often a feeling of hopelessness associated with animal cruelty videos which often grab our attention with blood and gore. Rossoyuki, a small animal-friendly luxury fashion brand, wanted to address this. They have created a beautifully thought-provoking 2 minute video which focuses on the emotional relationship between humans and animals and highlights the choice we can all make.
Advocate of humane fashion and star of the video Anjali Moody tells us in her own words how her involvement in the film has impacted her lifestyle and her hopes for the future.
I love animals and have always been drawn to them. What interested me in this film was the fact that the film showed an optimistic and positive emotion towards humane fashion. It showed what is possible versus what is not being done. Rossoyuki’s vision towards humane fashion was something I respected and hoped that the message we create together could pave the way for other such brands to take a similar stand.

All of them! It’s amazing to see how many real statistics go unnoticed. We live in a world where ignorance is bliss, and while most of us love animals and care for their well being, not many of us know the effect we have on their lives. I really hope these statistics open people’s eyes up to the reality of things.
I am more aware and have given up meat completely. I have also taken a no leather pledge since the day I decided to come on board with the video. The impact has been more of a lifestyle change more than anything else. I can safely say, that as an individual that enjoys fashion, it is very much possible to sustain an animal-sensitive lifestyle while still being trendy and hip.

Keep spreading the message! I am also part of a board of individuals that has been given the mandate to build an animal hospital by 2018 by CIDCO. This will go a long way in helping the animal healthcare situation in India which is quite disappointing at the moment.
I would encourage all fashion brands whether big or small, to take a pledge of no leather and no fur. Videos such as this one should shed light on the beauty of this cause instead of showing what is being done around the world that works against us.
While rossoyuki is a small brand right now, their vision is extremely large. The brand is successful and has a strong fashion backing. If others followed this mandate, and tried it, if even only for a year, I really believe we could make a very large impact for this message.
I really do hope other fashion brands follow suit in making such videos where they show how their humane fashion practices have a positive and fashionable outcome. It is a universal thinking that can be adopted and I look forward to this shift in thinking.
