At just 21 years old, Veronika Scott developed a coat that could be turned into a sleeping bag at night to face even the harshest of winters.
When she took her product out into the homeless community, the feedback wasn’t all positive,
“We don’t need your coats, we need jobs!”
And so The Empowerment Plan was born. Veronika now employs homeless parents from local shelters to make the coats for others in need. Through training and steady employment these individuals are able to permanently elevate themselves from the cycle of poverty. Watch this 2 minute clip to see Veronika’s story unfold and how she and her team are changing lives for the good.
“We believe in giving second chances to those who want it, and providing warmth to those who need it”
